I loved our conversation in that 1960s-ish airport bar (ah, Portland) - it's always amazing to me all that we carry when we are out and about in the world, and all that we engage in and cherish. I am about to write about what I do believe is a moment of "aesthetic synthesis" - thank you so much for these words, these thoughts.Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02067391488336878220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547316294063297137.post-86097010246256286792012-10-11T11:06:11.235-04:002012-10-11T11:06:11.235-04:00Anne,

As of a week ago, I sent off to the press my book on images of death and dying (we talked briefly about it in a Portland bar at NCS this summer); writing the Preface (dedicated to my father) plunged me back into my sorrow at my own father's death 18 months ago. The little moments of affirmation, of aesthetic synthesis, and of formed feeling, including the sadness, are all so woven into the way we heal from these moments of trauma. Thank you for sharing one of your moments with us.

Best,
AshbyUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03245245895508499128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4547316294063297137.post-63064641445348756182012-09-27T15:43:01.099-04:002012-09-27T15:43:01.099-04:00This is beautiful, Anne.
